TriXstar Dear 2020 EP

The world desperately needs strong women and female role models to move toward a better future – TriXstar is one of them. In times of crisis with growing nationalist tendencies, TriXstar represents a multicultural world and combines its Persian roots with German education and Jamaican culture.

Her new EP “Dear 2020” is her reflection on the past year. The global situation acts as a burning glass on the emotional world and the problems of people around the globe, and so on TriXstar. On “Dear 2020” she tries to put her own experiences into words. It does not deal directly with the obvious issue, even if much of it results from it.

2020 was a year with many highs and lows. It started with the release of TriXstar’s first CD “#TrixStylez” and 10 concerts on the accompanying promo tour in Jamaica, whereby the European tour was completely cancelled immediately after the return. Nevertheless, TriXstar knew how to use the time and maintained the connection with its fans through a remix competition, single releases and music videos with material from Jamaica. Nevertheless, the situation, with her limited options, has also triggered a process of self-reflection on priorities in life, which she processes at the EP.

The opener “Love” is a love song to universal love, for a good friend, sister or one’s own partner. The person who makes you smile and makes you get up in the morning; important to you. “You”, the second song on the EP, is based on a true story that TriXstar experienced in Kingston in early 2020. After a car accident, she was confronted with the harsh reality of inequality and a lack of knowledge about first aid in Jamaica. In general, self-care and caring for other two issues are two issues that run through the EP. “Own Way” and “Smile” are two songs that reflect on their own path. ‘It’s hard to find your own way, but all the steps along the way, including the so-called mistakes, are important and have made you the person you are today. So don’t let anyone tell you what to do or how you should be, you’re wonderful as you are.” And even “Satisfy Me,” a song about separating from a toxic partner, is about self-care – about recognizing what’s good and what’s bad for you. “Wonders” is the final song of the EP. He takes the listener on a journey through the wonders of nature and life and indirectly asks him not to take everything for God’s giving and to recognize and enjoy the wonderful things in life.

“Dear 2020” is a big step for TriXstar and marks the beginning of a new era in her musical work. Both musically and lyrally, she has grown up very grown up, with reflective and authentic songs, in a versatile musical guise. The music is strongly anchored in Jamaican culture, but adds something to it with the bridges, synths and textures. The EP was created in collaboration with Jon Moon and Yutman Records, and most of the instrumentals were recorded by musicians from the Evolution Band (the band of Gentleman). “Dear 2020” is definitely a release that should not be missed and will leave its mark on the international reggae scene.

“Dear 2020” will be released digitally on May 28, 2021 through Boomrush Productions https://youtu.be/6XB0nxwMkSI
